1. Who we are

Achados.cv operates an online classifieds marketplace focused on Cabo Verde. For data protection questions, contact us at privacy@achados.cv.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Account and profile

• Email address, name, and (if you provide them) phone number and WhatsApp number.
• Password or authentication tokens when you create an account or sign in.
• Whether you post as an individual or a business, where you select that option.
• Profile image if you upload one or if you use Sign in with Google (see below).

2.2 Listings and content

• Text, images, prices, categories, location, and contact details you include in ads.
• Information needed to publish, edit, or remove listings.

Public visibility: Active listings and the information you choose to display in them are visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines.

2.3 Sign in with Google

If you choose "Sign in with Google", Google shares with us the data you authorize through your Google account (typically your Google account ID, email address, name, and profile picture). We use this information to create or log you into your Achados.cv account. Google's processing of your data is described in Google's Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can review and revoke Google's access to apps connected to your Google account in your Google Account settings.

2.4 Sign in with Facebook

If you choose "Sign in with Facebook", Meta shares with us the data you authorize through your Facebook account (typically your Facebook user ID, name, email address when available, and profile picture). We use this to create or log you into your Achados.cv account. Meta's processing is described in Meta's Privacy Policy. You can review and remove Achados.cv from your Facebook settings under Apps and websites. For deleting data we hold, see our user data deletion page.

2.5 Usage, device, and technical data

• IP address, browser type, device type, approximate region, and similar technical data.
• Pages viewed, actions taken on the site, and timestamps (for security, analytics, and product improvement).
• Cookies and similar technologies as described in section 6.

2.6 Communications

• Messages we send you (e.g. verification, password reset, important service notices) and related delivery metadata.
• If you contact support, the content of your message and our replies.

3. Why we use your data (purposes)

• To provide the Service: accounts, listings, search, saved ads, and related features.
• To authenticate you and protect accounts (including fraud prevention and abuse detection).
• To communicate with you about the Service, security, and (where permitted) product updates.
• To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
• To analyse aggregate or anonymised usage so we can improve the platform (and, if you use optional analytics cookies, as described in your cookie choices).

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on applicable law (for example GDPR for users in the EU/EEA/UK), we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Service you request); legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement, proportionate marketing); consent where required (e.g. non-essential cookies or certain emails); and legal obligation where we must retain or disclose data.

5. Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers who assist us under contract (e.g. hosting, database, email delivery, file storage, security). They may only use data on our instructions.
• Google when you use Google sign-in, as described above.
• Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Service.
• Other users to the extent you publish information in listings or public profile areas.

Providers may be located outside Cabo Verde or your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions (e.g. session and security), and may use optional analytics tools (for example Google Analytics or Umami) if enabled on our deployment. Where required by law, we will obtain consent before non-essential cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: for example, account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to meet legal, tax, or dispute requirements; listings as long as published or as needed for backups and legal claims. Aggregated or anonymised data may be kept longer.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Restrict or object to certain processing.
• Data portability where processing is based on contract or consent.
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk (encryption in transit where standard, access controls, monitoring). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or a notice on the Service where appropriate.
